Ready for your first delicious bite of Filipino fast food? Good on you! And, no, balut is definitely off the menu. 😅
Would you go for a fast food joint that’s both tasty and affordable? Then look no farther. Jollibee in Robinson Magnolia mall is the only place you need to go.
As a local kid who grew up with this fast food brand, I can certainly vouch for it, 1,000%. I mean, why else would they now be co-located in different parts of the world? Today, you get to find out why when you head to Jollibee and get the Jolly-best meal the Philippines has to offer.
First, how do you get there?
Where to find Jollibee inside Robinsons Magnolia
When you arrive inside Robinsons Magnolia, you‘ll find yourself on the Upper Ground level where the mall’s main entrances are located. If you went through the one beside H&M, perfecto! That’s exactly where you need to be because this is nearest Jollibee.
As you enter the mall, this is how the lobby should look like from H&M:
Those gigantic pink bunnies sure are eye-catching, don’t you think? I’m not sure if they’re now a permanent fixture on the Upper Ground level. Regardless, consider them as your best landmark, for now.
You would also want to pay attention to the ROYCE’ kiosk on the right with fake marble counters. This is your next major landmark.
Now, see the guy on his phone? Follow him and walk in the direction where he’s heading.
Just a few steps away, you‘ll reach this escalator:
When you do, what’s left is for you to follow your nose to the smell of crispy-licious fried chicken, one level down, to the Food Court on the Lower Ground.
There, the one and only Jollibee branch in the entire mall awaits you!
If you happen to be traveling with a baby in tow, an elevator might better suit you, especially if you’re malling with a baby stroller.
Good news. There’s one elevator on the Upper Ground level that can take you to the food court below.
To make things easy on you, ask the security staff to give you directions to the elevator — right off the bat, as you enter the mall.
Sad to say, a concierge is no longer available within the premises; so asking security is your next best option.
Based on my own experience, security guards at Robinsons Magnolia are consistently kind, helpful, and knowledgeable. So rest-assured they’d be more than happy to help you if you ask.
In any case, standard-sized baby strollers can also travel on the escalator. So this could still be an option for you, albeit a less convenient one.
At the Foodcourt
If you’ve chosen the escalator to reach the Foodcourt, proceed to Kenny Rogers’ side, like this other guy:
In front of you, this scene will unfold:
At the corner, the public restrooms will also come into view. As you glance farther along, do you see an adorable face of a jolly bee peeking out of the corner of your eyes?
There you have it. It really is that easy to find this beloved Filipino fast food destination at Robinsons Magnolia.
Now that you’ve found it, congratulations! It’s time to grab that Jolly meal.
What’s Good to Eat at Jollibee?
Jollibee is best known for its signature take on classic fast food, namely the fried chicken, the spaghetti, and — of course — the hamburger.
If you can only order one food, choose any of these three.
The Chickenjoy
I will be biased. To me, Jollibee’s signature crispy-licious fried chicken called the Jolly Chickenjoy is the absolute one thing you must try. I kid you not, it will give any best-tasting fried chicken you’ve ever tried a run for its money!
HELPFUL TIP
When ordering Chickenjoy, you may ask the cashier which chicken parts are available then choose which one you’d like to go with your order.
The last thing you want is to get a small leg part which isn’t enough even for a small eater like me. Instead, enjoy your Chickenjoy in breast, thigh, wing, or rib parts — depending on how many pieces you’re ordering.
I always go for the breast part since it’s typically the largest. But, hey, it’s your party. Feel free to order whatever chicken part you want.
If you’re dining as a group, go for the chicken bucket.
Here’s the thing: You can also enjoy the Chickenjoy – Jolly Spaghetti meal combo, as shown below:
They’re a true match made in heaven. Combining the two will give you the best possible meal experience at Jollibee. Believe me, I myself can never get enough of this combo, even well into my 40s! It’s an absolute fan favorite loved by everyone of all ages and walks of life.
No surprise if you turn into a true fan yourself, what with Chickenjoy’s unique blend of spices and crispy perfection. While Jollibee’s own take on the spaghetti includes a sweet yet savory sauce, slices of hotdogs (undoubtedly made from Jollibee’s own recipe, too), and topped with a blanket of oozy, melty cheese. Simply yum!
The Jollibee Yumburger
Lastly, any fast food joint won’t be complete without a hamburger. In Jollibee’s case, it’s called a Yumburger.
If you know hamburgers like the back of your hand, it would probably be best to expect less than what you’re used to at Jollibee.
First, being an Asian fast food joint, understand that servings here equate to Asian meal sizes, too — which isn’t hefty, by any means.
If I may offer a suggestion, try their Jr. Champ Amazing Aloha burger as a solo order or as part of a meal (with fries and a drink).
It’s absolute heaven when you bite into it freshly made — the burger still warm and moist, with crispy bacon and lettuce resting on a bed of juicy pineapple slice and melted cheese. Just look at that beautiful burger sandwich! Isn’t it inviting?
Jolly Pies
Jollibee’s signature pocket pies are also very much worth trying. They come in unique Filipino flavors, so much so that Jollibee seemingly invented the peach mango pie in the country.
This pie has since been a standard item on their menu and is the only flavor currently offered in a large size, too.
Other pie flavors tend to be seasonal; so be sure to taste each one when you dine. As of April 2023, the Tuna pocket pie in regular or spicy flavor has been added to Jollibee’s standard menu, alongside the dessert-oriented peach mango pie.
These pies are best eaten warm or reheated in a toaster oven (if you have one at your disposal).
Other Yum Food Options
Aside from their best sellers suggested above, Jollibee also offers equally tasty snack options. Fancy the Jolly Hotdog sandwich and Jollibee’s cold choco beverage to go with it? They can be quite the winning pair.
In fact, if you’re feeling a bit adventurous, you might even try the Jollibee Palabok Fiesta which is soft rice noodles topped with a special orange-colored sauce then drizzled with pork meat bits, pork rind, shrimp and hard-boiled egg slices.
Not up to it? No worries, feel free to mix and match whatever’s on the menu and create your ideal merienda combo.
I almost forgot to mention: if you’re an early riser, boy does Jollibee also offer interesting breakfast meals — not at this branch, sadly, since they open at 11:00 AM, earliest, in conjunction with the official mall hours.
Dietary Restrictions
If you’re a vegan, a vegetarian, gluten-intolerant, or someone with any other special diet, please know that Jollibee in the Philippines is a regular fast food joint with no special dietary options.
For vegetarians, at least, you can have their potato fries or plant-based pocket pies — but, honestly, this would defeat the whole purpose of going to Jollibee, in the first place.
On second thought, if you’re okay with just the fries and pies, good on you!
For the gluten-intolerant, oof, sorry! Most of the menu items contain gluten. Fancy a naked Yumburger or Jolly Hotdog with fries on the side, perhaps? This might work for you; but, then again, the Chickenjoy and the Jolly Spaghetti are off the table.
In any case, don’t dismiss Jollibee just yet. Their warm and friendly staff might help find something compatible with you.
Ambiance
Maybe because of their delicious food, the happiness that diners get out of them translates into the restaurant’s ambiance. Being in Jollibee can make people feel almost warm and fuzzy — well… almost.
It also helps that this branch is always well-kept and well-lit. Jollibee at Robinsons Magnolia also offers ample space to diners, so you’d hardly feel cramped or want more space when you dine in.
Peak and Off-peak Hours
Like other restos, Jollibee can get pretty busy during certain hours of the day. Specifically, these would be during lunchtime (between 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM) and late afternoon when people come in for their afternoon snack (referred to by locals as merienda).
So if you’d like to spare yourself the trouble, avoid coming in during these busy hours. Here’s an idea of how these could look like at any given day, but more so during weekends:
No matter what time of the day you choose to drop by, one thing’s for sure: you’ll be glad you did!
